Protect the citizens of the Orland Fire Protection District and maintain the district’s national status as having the highest Save Rate in the country.

Our commitment as the Orland First Responder slate of candidates in the April 23, 2023 election:

– Protect the citizens of the Orland Fire Protection District and maintain the district’s national status as having the highest Save Rate in the State of Illinois and region. 71 percent of patients in the Orland Fire Protection District survive who have  suffer cardiac arrest emergencies survive. (Data as of February 2023) The national Save rate is only 10 – 15 percent.

– Keep politics out of the Orland Fire Protection District.(We will not accept endorsements or slating from mayors or other political leaders!

– Put experienced and professional First Responders on the Orland Fire Protection District board to best represent the residents, taxpayers, and the firefighters and paramedics in the district.

– Matthew G. Rafferty and William Bonnar Jr. have more combined experience as First Responders than any of the other candidates and we believe that experienced makes them the best choice to ensure the Orland Fire Protection District continues to respond with the highest Cardiac Arrest “Save Rate” and the most efficiency to emergency situations including fires.

No one understands the needs of emergency First Responders (firefighters, paramedics) better than First Responders who have extensive Fire Department and Police Department experience.

We feel that First Responders Matthew G. Rafferty and William Bonnar Jr., have that experience — more than any other candidates — needed to ensure that the Orland Fire Protection District remains the best Fire Protection District in the country.

Rafferty and Bonnar have long histories with the Orland Fire Protection District serving at a time when the Fire Protection District received its highest honors and national recognitions.

Their goal is to maintain the current high level of professionalism and training reflected in the experience of each and every member of the Orland Fire Protection District.

The commitment of Rafferty and Bonnar is to maintain the highest level of services without raising property taxes by efficiently managing the Fire Protection District’s current financial resources and revenues.

Protect the Fire Protection District’s 94 percent fully funded pension fund through professional management of the District’s finances.

Continue to be fully transparent and provide information to all of the Fire Protection District’s residents.

Ensure that only the best qualified individuals become firefighters or paramedics to guarantee the highest level and maximum efficiency in emergency situations to save lives and protect property.

Most importantly, Rafferty and Bonnar want to keep politics out of the Fire Protection District. Their priority is to save lives, respond to every emergency with the most effective training and responses necessary, and to extinguish fires and protect property.

Their loyalty is to the safety of the public, not to anyone else.
