Matthew G, Rafferty and William Bonnar Jr., Tuesday night expressed their gratitude to the voters who had faith in their years of First Responder Experience.
“We are grateful to everyone who voted tonight and although we did not win, we believed we ran an issues-focused campaign,” said Rafferty, a veteran police officer.
Bonnar added, “The voters have spoken and we respect their decisions. We are grateful to everyone who believed in our mission to defend the Orland Fire Protection District.”
Bonnar and Rafferty also expressed their congratulations to the apparent, unofficial winners, Tina Zekich and Angela Greenfield.
“They ran a strong campaign and they ran one that focussed on the issues and we wish them the best. We are confident that Tina and Angela will make it their priority to protect the Orland Fire Protection District and keep politics out and focus on the sacrifices that firefighters and paramedics make everyday to save lives and fight fires. We are very confident they will do a great job as Fire District Trustees. Congratulations,” Bonnar and Rafferty said in a statement.
We are happy to offer any support that we can to ensure the fire district remains the number one fire district in the Midwest.
